Despite the widespread introduction of automation and artificial intelligence in the military sphere, the legal formalization of this process is currently practically not developed. The article identifies gaps in legal regulation on the basis of existing and promising areas of application of artificial intelligence for military purposes, analyzes international and Russian legal sources, makes proposals for the development and discussion of regulatory legal acts related to the use of artificial intelligence.
