Zadie Smith, born in London in 1975 in a family of a Jamaican mother and an English father, became a literary sensation with her first novel \"White Teeth\" (2000). Bernardine Evaristo, the daughter of a Nigerian father and an English mother, became the first black woman to win the Booker Prize for her novel \"Girl, Woman, Other\" in 2019.
