Aerokultura i poljoprivreda

Smisao «aviacijskih sorti» u strogo znanstvenom smislu ne postoji u selekcijskoj nomenklaturi. Međutim, pod tim terminom istorijski se razumijevaju specijalizirane sorte poljoprivrednih kultura, stvorene ili masovno uvedene u period industrijalizacije poljoprivrednog gospodarstva SSSR u 1960-1980-ima, čije uzgoj je bio optimalno prilagođen primjeni avijacijske tehnike (aviahimrada, aeroseva) na vasta polja. To je bio simbion agronomije, selekcije i avijacijske industrije, usmeren na maksimalnu mehanizaciju i efikasnost u uvjetima ekstenzivnog poljoprivrednog rada.

Agrotehnički zahtjevi za «nebeskim» sortama

Pik «aviacijske selekcije» je došao u period osvajanja čelnih i zalježnih zemalja, gdje su polja veličine tisuća hektara činili zemaljsku obradu jako sporo.
